How to Keep Headaches Away

Posted by ThePurpleBunny at 7:21 PM

Headaches are really annoying and anyone with a headache probably can't concentrate on his/her work. Don't you just hate how it strikes you when you least expect it to? Well, here are simple tips you might want to consider to keep those headaches away.

1.) Keep a regular sleeping and waking up time.

According to Lisa Mannix, spokeswoman for the National Headache Foundation in Chicago, "Snoozing in for more than an hour can disrupt your sleep-wake cycle, and anything that tinkers with your body's natural rhythm may prime you for pain." Well, that means that we have to manage the time we sleep and wake up and make sure it's at the same time every day.

2.) Enjoy a cup of coffee daily.

Coffee, like what we all know, contains caffeine which stimulates receptors in our brains. So if you're a coffee drinker, make sure not to miss out on your daily doze because it might just give you the headache you hate.

3.) Maintain a proper posture.

You might be confused how posture has anything to do with headaches. Well, the main sensory nerve in the forehead is rooted in the base of the neck. That's why muscle tension there or in the shoulders can cause headaches. So, be always conscious of your posture.

4.) Drink water.

One of the most common causes of headaches is dehydration so make sure you have a bottle of water with you and make sure you keep yourself hydrated all day long.

5.) Chill.

Stress can cause our bodies to pump out sugar and a rapid change in our glucose levels can give us headaches. So, make sure that you take a break once in a while and don't let the anxiety and worries get into you.
