Avoiding Beauty Blunders 101

Posted by ThePurpleBunny at 7:02 PM

Without us knowing it, we often commit mistakes while trying to improve our looks. Here are some tips to avoid common beauty blunders:

1. Using conditioner all over your hair. The hair closest to the roots is newly grown so it's healthy thus you have to leave it alone. Instead, start at your ears, and apply all the way to the ends.

2. Spraying perfume after you have dressed. Perfume is formulated to be applied to the skin and to interact with body heat so before dressing, lightly dab or spray onto the skin at one or two of the pulse points - knees, wrists, base of the throat and behind the earlobes.

3. Neglecting your neck. The skin on your neck can be thinner and more sensitive than the skin on your face and just as prone to changes n pigment, elasticity and wrinkles. So when you apply sunscreen, moisturizer or treatment cream, include also your neck.

4. Bathing or showering until your body and hair feel "squeaky clean." The feeling may be good but when you feel that way, you've probably removed the natural oils and lipids that seal in moisture that protect your skin and hair. So limit shower and bath time to 10 minutes or less.
